About the Role:Teach O Rea Preparatory in Stone Mountain, GA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our growing team! This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while working alongside experienced educators in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:- Support the lead teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom instruction
- Supervise and assist students during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor play
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Provide individualized attention and support to students as needed
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress
- Assist with preparing classroom materials, supplies, and educational resources
- Observe and document student behavior and development for reporting purposes
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred
- Prior experience working with children in a classroom, childcare, or educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a background check
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
