The Georgia Lottery Pre-K Assistant Teacher partners with the Lead Teacher to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) and Georgia Lottery Pre-K requirements. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom instruction and small-group learning; supporting early literacy, mathematics, science, social-emotional development, and purposeful play; actively supervising scholars at all times; preparing instructional materials and learning centers; reinforcing positive behavior and classroom routines; maintaining a clean, organized, and safe learning environment; documenting observations; assisting with assessments and classroom records; communicating professionally with families; and ensuring compliance with all Bright from the Start, DECAL, health, safety, and program requirements.


The ideal candidate is patient, nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic about early childhood education. Successful applicants demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, professionalism, flexibility, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn and grow. A collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience for every scholar are essential.


A minimum of a CDA or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field is required, or eligibility as established by Georgia Lottery Pre-K and Bright from the Start requirements. Candidates must meet all Georgia Lottery Pre-K employment requirements, successfully complete required background screenings, and maintain current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or obtain certification within the required timeframe. Previous experience in a Georgia Lottery Pre-K or licensed early childhood classroom is preferred.
