Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience - Gurnee is hiring an enthusiastic and dependable Assistant Teacher to support our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms.
Whether you already have childcare experience or are looking to begin your career in early childhood education, we'd love to meet you!
As an Assistant Teacher, you'll work alongside experienced educators to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, explore, and grow.
What You'll Do
- Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
- Assist with The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Engage children through stories, music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning
- Encourage language development, independence, and positive social interactions
- Support meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, and classroom transitions as appropriate
- Maintain active supervision and appropriate teacher-to-child ratios
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Keep classrooms clean, organized, and welcoming
- Follow Illinois DCFS childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous professional childcare, daycare, preschool, or experience working with children preferred
- Early Childhood Education coursework or CDA is a plus, but not required
- Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn and support children across different age groups
- Must meet applicable Illinois DCFS requirements for the assigned position
