Assistant Teacher – Early Childhood Education | Closing Shift
Location: The Learning Experience – Bushwick, Brooklyn, NYPay:$19–$21 per hour (based on experience)Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
The Learning Experience – Bushwick is hiring Assistant Teachers to support our early childhood classrooms and help provide consistency through our afternoon and closing hours.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and prefers a later morning start. You'll work alongside Lead Teachers and provide support across classrooms as needed, helping ensure children have a safe, engaging, and positive experience from classroom activities through end-of-day pick-up.
What You'll Do
- Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and learning activities
- Provide classroom and ratio coverage where needed
- Work with children across different early childhood age groups
- Engage children in play, art, music, sensory activities, and hands-on learning
- Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
- Support afternoon routines and create a welcoming experience for families at pick-up
- Help with end-of-day classroom organization and closing procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
- Follow applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or early childhood experience preferred
- Comfortable providing support across different classrooms
- Reliable and consistently available for the 10:00 AM–6:30 PM closing schedule
- Patient, energetic, flexible, and team-oriented
- Must meet applicable New York City childcare licensing requirements
