At The Goddard School of Fairfield, we believe that providing an exceptional early childhood education begins with having the right people in place to support our children, teachers, and families. We are looking for dependable, nurturing, enthusiastic Assistant Teachers / Classroom Support Teachers to join our team!
This is an incredibly important role within our school!Unlike many early childhood programs that staff classrooms at minimum required ratios, we intentionally strive to be OVERSTAFFED. We believe that having additional support throughout the school allows us to provide more individualized attention to children, better support our classroom teachers, and ensure our school operates smoothly each day.
Our Classroom Support Teachers are a vital part of making that happen! Rather than being assigned to one classroom, you will have the opportunity to work with multiple age groups, from infants through Pre-K, providing additional hands-on support wherever it is needed. You will build relationships with children and teachers throughout the school while gaining valuable experience in different developmental stages, teaching styles, and classroom environments.

Available Positions & Schedules
Full-Time Position
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
Part-Time Afternoon Positions
- Must be available at least 3 weekdays
- Minimum 3–4 hours per afternoon
- Must be available until 5:30 PM
No evenings, nights, or weekends required!
What You'll Do
As a Classroom Support Teacher, you will:
- Work alongside Lead and Assistant Teachers in classrooms from infants through Pre-K
- Provide additional support beyond required classroom staffing ratios whenever possible
- Assist with daily routines, learning activities, and classroom transitions
- Engage children in meaningful play, exploration, and hands-on learning
- Support classroom management and positive behavior guidance
- Help maintain safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environments
- Step into different classrooms throughout the day based on school needs
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and faculty
- Learn from experienced educators and develop your own teaching skills

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Experience working with children under age 5 in a group setting preferred
- Additional education in Early Childhood Education or a related field is a plus
- Patient, nurturing, energetic, and compassionate
- Dependable, flexible, and comfortable working with different age groups
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction from classroom teachers and leadership
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required for child safety and care, including safely lifting infants into and out of cribs

About Company
The Goddard School provides the foundation to encourage a child's lifelong love of learning .In our warm, caring atmosphere, dedicated teachers support the development of children from 6 weeks to 8 years old. Our year round program offers families the choice of either half day or full day schedule.
