Assistant Teacher – Preschool & Childcare
Location: The Learning Experience – Canton, MI
Pay:$16–$19 per hour (based on experience and credentials)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

The Learning Experience – Canton is seeking dependable and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to support our early childhood classrooms.


Working alongside experienced Lead Teachers, you'll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, build friendships, and develop new skills every day.


This is a great opportunity for someone with childcare experience who wants to continue developing professionally and potentially grow into a Lead Teacher role.


What You'll Do

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
  
  
• Engage children in play-based learning, sensory activities, music, art, and early learning experiences
  
  
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
  
  
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
  
  
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
  
  
• Build positive relationships with children and families
  
  
• Step into different classrooms when additional support is needed
  
  
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing and safety requirements
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
  
  
• Previous experience in a daycare, preschool, or childcare environment preferred
  
  
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
  
  
• Reliable, flexible, patient, and team-oriented
  
  
• Strong communication skills
  
  
• Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
