Position Summary:The Assistant Food Service Supervisor supports the daily operations of the food service department by assisting with staff supervision, food quality, customer service, and regulatory compliance. This role helps ensure efficient operations while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Assist in supervising daily food service operations to ensure efficient workflowSupport staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoringEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulationsMonitor food preparation and presentation to maintain quality standardsAddress customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely mannerAssist with inventory control, supply ordering, and minimizing food wasteEnsure proper cash handling and register procedures are followed, when applicableLead daily operations and supervise staff in the Food Service Supervisor's absenceMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and service areasAssist with onboarding, training, and coaching new team membersPromote teamwork, excellent customer service, and adherence to company policiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencyJob Requirements:Previous experience in food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or hospitality operations requiredPrior supervisory or team lead experience preferredKnowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations (ServSafe certification is a plus)Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent customer service and communication abilitiesExperience with inventory management and food cost control preferredAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentFlexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as neededAbility to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with food service operations
