    Overview

    A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join its field operations team in Utah. This is an entry-level, career-track opportunity designed for individuals who are eager to build a long-term career in commercial construction.

    Working alongside experienced Superintendents and Project Managers, you'll gain hands-on experience managing active commercial jobsites while developing the technical and leadership skills needed to advance into a Superintendent role.     The Role

    The Assistant Superintendent will support daily field operations across commercial construction projects, assisting with subcontractor coordination, jobsite logistics, quality control, and project documentation.

    Success in this role means developing a strong understanding of commercial construction processes while progressively taking on greater responsibility. This position offers a defined growth path from Assistant Superintendent to Superintendent and beyond.

    Responsibilities

    • Support daily jobsite operations under the guidance of experienced Superintendents and Project Managers.
    • Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, and daily construction activities.
    • Assist with jobsite safety inspections, quality control reviews, and punch list completion.
    • Track daily project progress, labor activities, material usage, and project documentation.
    • Learn to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
    • Participate in owner, architect, contractor (OAC), and subcontractor coordination meetings.
    • Assist with scheduling, field coordination, and problem-solving throughout project execution.
    • Develop the skills required to independently manage project scopes and eventually lead commercial construction projects.

    Requirements

    • Recent graduate with a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an early-career professional with construction or field experience.
    • Strong desire to build a long-term career in commercial construction.
    • Excellent work ethic, coachability, and willingness to learn from experienced field leaders.
    • Comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively alongside field personnel, subcontractors, and project teams.
    • Well-organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Utah as required.

    Nice to Have

    • Internship or co-op experience within commercial construction.
    • Exposure to field operations, skilled trades, or construction management principles.
