Building And Construction Assistant Superintendent

Job Description
As a Building and Construction Assistant Superintendent in Rochester, NY you will:
- Assist the Superintendent with daily field operations
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and onsite personnel
- Monitor project schedules and construction progress
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections for quality and safety
- Help enforce OSHA and company safety standards
- Coordinate material deliveries and site logistics
- Review construction drawings and project specifications
- Track daily activities and maintain project documentation
- Participate in subcontractor and coordination meetings
- Identify and communicate field issues to project leadership
- Assist with punch-list completion and closeout activities
- Support project milestones and schedule adherence

The Successful Applicant
A successful Building and Construction Assistant Superintendent in Rochester, NY should have:
- 2+ years of construction field experience
- Experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Project Engineer, or similar role
- Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and jobsite safety practices
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- A desire to grow into a Superintendent position
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-family construction experience
- Commercial construction experience
- Background in masonry, carpentry, or another skilled trade
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Construction Management education or equivalent field experience
