Assistant Superintendent / Field Coordinator

A well-established and growing commercial general contractor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent / Field Coordinator to support the successful execution of construction projects throughout Central Pennsylvania. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced construction professionals on a variety of commercial, industrial, and development projects while gaining valuable field leadership experience. The company specializes in construction management, design-build, renovations, and ground-up construction projects.

Job Description

  • Assist in managing daily on-site construction activities to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, vendors, and project managers to coordinate project timelines and deliverables.
  • Monitor site safety and compliance with all regulations and company policies.
  • Inspect work progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Help resolve any on-site issues or delays to keep the project on track.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on project status.
  • Support the Superintendent in managing site operations and team supervision.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Superintendent should have:

  • 2+ years of construction experience preferred; field leadership experience is a plus.
  • Experience on commercial, industrial, healthcare, multifamily, educational, or institutional projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and jobsite safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
