Assistant Superintendent
This position is ideal for someone looking to advance their construction management career while working alongside experienced Superintendents on complex public-sector projects. You'll play an integral role in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and promoting a safe and productive jobsite.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent in managing daily construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedules.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule or quality concerns.
- Ensure work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Conduct regular site walks to monitor workmanship, safety, and productivity.
- Assist with project scheduling, sequencing, and logistics.
- Help coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local building requirements.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in commercial or public works construction.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar field leadership role preferred.
- Experience working for a General Contractor is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and jobsite best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms is a plus.
