Main responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department, including Dairy, Frozen Foods, and Beer/Liquor, to achieve sales, profitability, and customer service objectives.
• Support overall store operations and provide leadership to department managers and store associates in the absence of the Store Director.
• Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, priced, rotated, merchandised, and maintained in compliance with company quality, safety, sanitation, and inventory standards.
• Monitor inventory levels, manage product ordering, control shrink, and oversee inventory counts and reclamation processes.
• Lead, coach, train, schedule, and develop department associates to ensure excellent customer service and operational performance.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and succession planning while fostering a positive work environment
• Analyze sales, labor, and financial performance metrics, and implement plans to improve productivity, sales growth, and profitability.
• Resolve customer concerns, maintain positive vendor relationships, and promote a culture of exceptional customer service throughout the store.

• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.

• Working knowledge of state and federal regulations related to retail operations.

• Proficiency with basic math, accounting principles, and computer software applications.

• Abilities:

• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining operational standards.

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and assist in various store functions as needed.

• Educational requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Additional education in Business, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.

• Equivalent combination of education and extensive retail management experience will be considered.

• Other requirements:

• Extensive retail management experience, preferably in grocery or food retail operations.

• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Regular and reliable attendance.

• Ability to work in a temperature-controlled retail environment with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and refrigerated/freezer areas.

• Commitment to maintaining company standards for safety, grooming, dress code, and workplace conduct.
