The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s largest small business advocacy organization, is looking to hire an Assistant State Director to join its State Government Relations team.
Responsibilities:The Assistant State Director supports the State Director with the management of the internal, legislative, and political affairs of the state office to further the interests of NFIB in the assigned state. Works to maintain and strengthen the legislative contact network among members. Responsibilities include interacting with the state’s legislative offices/committees to promote the interests of NFIB and the small business community; facilitating member relations through written communications, meetings, and resolution of member inquiries; support and plan Small Business Day and relevant member event programs; research/analyze legislative issues that impact NFIB membership and effectively communicate positions and perspectives to relevant audiences.
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work outcomes must meet and / or exceed productivity and quality standards. Must be able to work as part of a cooperative team environment, adhering to Company and Department policies and procedures. Performs other projects as needed.
