Duties/Responsibilities
- Attend and assist the varsity coach with conducting daily workouts and practices
- Assist the varsity coach with the supervision and instruction of student-athletes during all team activities
- Assist the varsity coach with the preparation of the softball facility for all home games
- Promote balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators
- Motivate athletes
- Assist the varsity coach and the school system in building the softball program and plan for its future
Qualifications
- CPR / First Aid Training, Fundamentals of Coaching Training, Health and Safety for Coaches, and Concussion Training preferred
- Complete orientation through human resources including fingerprinting and background checks
- Within two years of hiring, successful completion of the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) course and test entitled "Basic Virginia High School League Course" accessible at http://www.asep.com/asep.content/org/VHSL.cfm will be completed.
