The Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member coaching Softball. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. This position is currently eligible for telework 3 days a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintaining a respected NJCAA Division II program.
Recruiting of student athletes.
Understanding and achieving NJCAA eligibility standards.
Understanding and referring student athletes to college academic support system.
Assisting the Head Coach with arranging team travel, practice planning, video editing, scouting, maintaining equipment, and game preparation.
Ability to work non-traditional hours.
Providing leadership and mentorship of student athletes.
Work closely with the media relations department.
Ability to work effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have at least 2-3 years of College, High School, and/or Travel/Club softball coaching experience.
Knowledge of NJCAA or NCAA rules and regulations; college playing experience; experience training or instructing student-athletes; and demonstrated leadership in team management.
Technical and tactical understanding of college softball.
Analytical understanding of game related data.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion

Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus). Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools. *If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the Part-time Faculty – Non-Credit department chair at the time of interview. Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Softball coaching certification and/or licenses.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
