Key Functions and Expected Performance:
Leadership of Child Care Operations The Assistant Site Director supports day-to-day management of the child care center by implementing the established policies and procedures for child safety, care and education, standards and guidelines for classroom activities, pedagogy and curriculum, teacher training and development, and quality assurance standards, programs, and procedures. The Assistant Site Director fosters a work environment that demonstrates and values diversity, integrity, safety, collaboration and collegiality and positive relationships.

Supervisory Relationships:
This position has supervisory responsibility for the Administrative Assistant, Lead Teachers, and Associate Teachers. This position reports administratively to the VCFC Executive Director and functionally to the Site Director.
Education and Certifications
Must fully meet DHS/DOE child care licensing requirements for this role, including background check and ongoing training.
An AA in early childhood education, education or a related field AND 7+ years teaching experience in an early childhood organization AND 4+ years of experience in a leadership role with direct management of child care staff is required.
OR a BA/BS in early childhood education, education or a related field is required (M.A./M.S. strongly preferred) AND 3+ years of teaching experience in an early childhood organization.
