Assistant Site Director

These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay.  The Assistant Site Director works closely with the site leadership to ensure proper supervision of children and to plan and implement recreation and educational activities that support learning and self-esteem.  The position shares responsibility for opening/closing, attendance and data collection, and supervises staff in the absence of other site leadership. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist the site leadership in developing and implementing a creative program and age appropriate activities in accordance to Y philosophies.
2. Be responsible for program operation and staff supervision in the absence of the site leader. 
3. Maintain supervision and interaction with assigned group/area at all times.
4. Maintain accurate attendance, forms, records, files and other required data.
5. Maintain group behavioral limits using established program standards and positive practices.
6. Comply with Y safety requirements and applicable district requirements.
7. Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, school personnel, district partners and Y staff.
8. Lead by positive example and maintain a physically, emotionally and socially environment.
9. Maintain clean and orderly program areas; assist in the preparation and serving of snacks.
10. Assist in planning, attend and actively participate in required staff meetings, trainings, program activities and special events. 
11. Confer immediately with site leadership concerning suspected child abuse and follow mandated reporting procedures.
12. Other duties as assigned.
