    Job Title: Assistant Service Manager                                     

    Department: Service

    Reports to: Service Manager

    Summary

    The Assistant Service Manager manages overall workflow of the shop, assists technicians and customers when needed, and promotes safe work practices in a fast-paced environment.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Provide safe and clean working environment for technicians
    2. Provide training outline to trainer and service manager for techs
    3. Provide safety training to technicians
    4. Provide support to technicians in the field as needed
    5. Line out techs on jobs
    6. Coordinate jobs for technicians
    7. Provide technical assistance over the phone with customers
    8. Create parts requisitions for jobs
    9. Communicate with manufactures on issues and technical support
    10. Travel as needed to other branches to assist
    11. Sign off on all work orders
    12. Update backlog
    13. Create quotes for customers and other branches
    14. Promote efficiency in the shop

    Education and Experience

    1. High School Diploma
    2. Two years’ administrative experience
    3. Strong mechanical background, 5-10 years’ experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or heavy equipment dealer preferred
    4. Management training and/or experience preferred

     

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Most work is completed in an office environment. The employee will be required to stand, walk, bend and will occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
