    Assistant Sanitation Site Manager

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our organization as an Assistant Sanitation Site Manager. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Sanitation Site Manager in overseeing and managing all aspects of sanitation operations at our facility. (e.g., interviewing, hiring, training, setting and adjusting hours, planning and directing work; discipline of team members; handling team member complaints and grievances; ensuring that the customer’s facility is effectively sanitized in compliance with governmental and/or customer specifications; etc.).

    You will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, ensuring compliance with sanitation regulations, and assisting in implementing efficient sanitation practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Support Sanitation Operations:
      • Assist the Sanitation Site Manager in developing and implementing sanitation protocols, procedures, and guidelines to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
      • Work closely with the Sanitation Site Manager to coordinate and supervise daily sanitation activities, including cleaning, disinfecting, waste management, and pest control.
      • Assist the Sanitation Site Manager in controls of site expenditures within approved budgets.
      • Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess sanitation conditions, identify potential issues, and recommend corrective actions.
      • Help maintain inventory of sanitation supplies, equipment, and chemicals, and coordinate with vendors for timely procurement and communicates with corporate office daily regarding items such as nightly logs, payroll, chemical and supply orders, timesheets, etc.
      • Provide guidance and training to sanitation staff, ensuring they adhere to established protocols and maintain a high level of performance.
    2. Regulatory Compliance:
      • Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal sanitation regulations and guidelines.
      • Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation related to sanitation operations, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and training records.
      • Support the Sanitation Site Manager in facilitating audits and inspections by regulatory agencies, addressing any findings or recommendations.
    3. Quality Control and Safety:
      • Assist in implementing quality control measures to ensure sanitation processes meet established standards.
      • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any sanitation-related issues affecting product quality and safety.
      • Serves as a liaison, attends sanitation meetings (e.g., production, USDA, audits, etc.) on behalf of with the customer.
      • Promote a culture of safety by supporting the enforcement of safety guidelines, participating in safety training programs, and assisting in investigating safety incidents or concerns.
    4. Continuous Improvement:
      • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement in sanitation operations, and support the implementation of initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
      • Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in sanitation management, and contribute ideas for relevant improvements or upgrades.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Previous experience in sanitation operations, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
    • Solid understanding of sanitation regulations, including those specific to the industry.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
    • Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Office applications.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Physical stamina and ability to perform duties that may involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
