Assistant Recreation Director

The City of La Vista is looking for an experienced, people-focused Assistant Recreation Director who knows a little about a lot and is ready to help lead our Recreation Department into its next chapter.

In this role, you'll:

• Coach and develop staff, helping employees grow, succeed, and take the next step in their careers.
• Work across the world of Recreation, from aquatics and athletics to facilities, programs, seniors, and special projects.
• ️ Look at how we do things and ask, "How can we make this better?"
• Build strong relationships with staff, City departments, community partners, and the people we serve.
• Help manage budgets, operations, policies, performance measures, and department initiatives.
• Bring ideas to the table and help turn those ideas into action.
• Balance the needs of today while helping us plan for what's next.

We're looking for a Recreation professional who sweats the details, takes time to build relationships, follows through, and genuinely enjoys helping others succeed.

You should be a team player and a self-starter-someone who can jump in when needed, take ownership of a project, improve a process, and keep the bigger picture in sight.
