Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Assistant Reading Lab Coordinator supports the Reading Lab Coordinator to serve Reading/INRW/ESOL courses, its part-time staff, and materials including the computer lab. All of the Reading and ESOL courses have a lab requirement as part of the curriculum.

The Lab Coordinator assists faculty by helping the students meet these lab requirements, manages the students' access to lab materials available in print or on the computer, provides one-on-one and small group tutoring for Reading and ESOL students to better understand course and lab assignments, as well as creates and delivers seminar/workshop content on various topics throughout the academic semester to serve Reading and ESOL students.

Minimum Qualifications

60 college credit hours.

One (1) year experience working in higher education.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of various computer software and technology.

Knowledge of general office skills (i.e. answering phones, customer relations, typing).

Ability to Work with the Lab Coordinator to manage lab requirements.

Ability to work with a various student, staff, and faculty population.

Ability to work as team member.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Experience in delivering workshops for Reading or ESOL.

Experience working with students of various backgrounds.

Experience Teaching or Tutoring for Reading or ESOL in a secondary school or higher education.

Assist Reading Lab Coordinator with Management of Reading Lab.

Train Reading Lab Staff.

Assist with purchase of supplies, instructional materials, software, and equipment.

Maintain Reading web page.

Job Duty

INSTRUCTIONAL:

Keep record of lab attendance.

Ensure Lab Staff are entering time.

Manage paper timesheets for Lab Coordinator's Review

Assist Lab Coordinator with maintain records of equipment and instructional material usage.

Work with Reading/INRW/ESOL faculty to create and order instructional materials.

Work with students of various backgrounds.

Work with Reading/INRW/ESOL faculty to develop and conduct workshops for Developmental Education and ESOL students.

Job Duty

Perform other related duties as assigned.
