Assistant QC Scientist

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking Assistant Scientists to support a mix of R&D and Quality Control laboratory operations in Cincinnati, OH. These scientists will generate and review analytical test results, laboratory records, and supporting documentation while ensuring the data is accurate, complete, traceable, and compliant with approved methods, specifications, SOPs, GMP requirements, and Good Documentation Practices.

This is a strong opportunity for early-career laboratory candidates. The team is open to candidates with a BS degree and less than one year of experience, as well as candidates with an Associate degree, certificate, or high school background who bring at least one year of laboratory experience. Academic laboratory experience can count for entry-level candidates. The emphasis is on foundational, trainable lab skills such as general chemistry techniques, pH meters, analytical balances, pipettes/glassware, laboratory safety, and good documentation practices. HPLC, GC, and dissolution testing experience are valuable but are not required for the hiring event

• Generate and review analytical test results and supporting laboratory documentation
• Review analytical data from techniques including HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, dissolution testing, and wet chemistry
• Verify calculations, specifications, instrument outputs, chromatograms, and test results for accuracy and completeness
• Ensure laboratory records comply with approved methods, SOPs, GMP requirements, Good Documentation Practices, and data integrity standards
• Identify errors, discrepancies, atypical results, and documentation deficiencies and work with laboratory personnel to resolve issues
• Review data associated with raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability studies
• Support investigations, deviations, OOS/OOT events, and other quality-related activities as needed
• Collaborate with QC analysts, laboratory leadership, Quality Assurance, and cross-functional teams to support testing and product-release timelines
