Assistant Property ManagerLocation: Chicago, IL - South Shore and Hyde Park NeighborhoodJob SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated, customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will provide vital support to our Property Manager in the day-to-day operations of our residential community. This support includes building positive relationships with prospective and current residents, assisting with overseeing all aspects of the property’s maintenance, marketing, retention, and occupancy goals and managing resident ledgers, delinquency, and collection efforts. Key Responsibilities - Assist in managing all aspects of the property’s occupancy, appearance, and maintenance goals
- Assist with marketing, handling prospect inquiries and converting calls to shows and rentals
- Follow the company’s policies and procedures regarding the processing of rental applications
- Accurately prepare and execute lease agreements
- Ensure that apartments are move-in ready by walking units prior to the scheduled move-in date
- Assist with the property’s retention goals by providing our residents professional, proactive service, addressing resident concerns timely and making follow-up calls
- Assist with hosting regular resident appreciation functions and other events
- Manage rent collection, post payments timely, review resident ledgers and serve eviction notices per company policy as needed
- Assist with the scheduling, monitoring and follow up of maintenance service requests
- Walk the property, common areas, model units and grounds daily to ensure cleanliness and report any unsafe conditions to maintenance personnel
- Oversee and follow company procedures during move-outs
- Assist with on-going training of leasing staff when needed
- Attend all training classes and complete all learning courses assigned timely
- Performing any other tasks as directed by the Property Manager or VPO
Requirements - Must be able to work Saturdays.
- 3+ years of experience as an Assistant Property Manager in the residential property management industry
- Ability to work with a team to reach the property’s goals
- Professional manner and appearance
- A proactive approach, excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of effective marketing, sales and closing techniqu
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and property management software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
