Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

Reporting to a Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will support the successful delivery of multifamily and mixed-use construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an ideal opportunity for a construction professional looking to develop their project management skills within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and overall project administration.
  • Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract tracking.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and ownership representatives.
  • Support project controls, forecasting, and cost management activities.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain detailed project records.
  • Utilise project management software to track progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Assist the Project Manager in identifying and mitigating project risks while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The Successful Applicant

For the Assistant Project Manager we are seeking:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar construction management role.
  • Experience supporting multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, or ground-up construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project documentation, and contract administration.
  • Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office; scheduling software experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Desire to build a long-term career within a growing construction organisation.
  • Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred.
