Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Team in the planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of assigned projects. This position assists with day-to-day project management activities while developing the knowledge and experience necessary to independently manage projects. The Assistant Project Manager works closely with project management, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, field supervision, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Assist the Project Team with overall planning and execution of assigned projects.
  • Review project contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, scopes of work, and other project documents.
  • Help maintain project schedules, milestones, procurement requirements, and critical action items.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and field teams to support project requirements.
  • Assist with preparation, tracking, and follow-up of RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and other project documentation.
  • Track material procurement, fabrication, delivery, and installation activities to help ensure schedule requirements are met.
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors regarding pricing, lead times, deliveries, documentation, and project requirements.
  • Assist in identifying scope gaps, conflicts, schedule impacts, and potential project risks and promptly communicate concerns to the Project Team.
  • Support project cost tracking, forecasting, committed costs, change management, and other financial reporting.
  • Assist with reviewing subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and alignment with project progress.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings and document required follow-up items.
  • Maintain accurate project information and documentation within CMiC, Monday.com, and other company systems.
  • Coordinate closely with field Superintendents to address material, drawing, scheduling, manpower, and installation needs.
  • Assist with customer and general contractor communication as directed by the Project Team.
  • Help ensure contractual notices, documentation, and required project correspondence are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support project turnover, punch-list completion, closeout documentation, warranties, and final project completion.
  • Visit jobsites as required to understand field conditions, monitor progress, and assist in resolving project issues.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Perform additional project-related responsibilities as assigned by the Project Team.
Experience Requirements: 
  • 1–3 years of construction, project coordination, project engineering, or project management experience preferred.
  • Experience in detention equipment, security construction, specialty contracting, manufacturing, or commercial construction is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with CMiC, Monday.com, or similar construction/project management platforms preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Ability to identify issues and elevate them before they affect project cost or schedule.
  • Ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel.
  • Developing understanding of project financials, scheduling, procurement, and change management.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and adjust priorities as project conditions change.
Education Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Credentialing Requirements: 
  • Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen
Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily in person based in Waterford, NY
  • Ability and willingness to visit construction jobsites as required
  • Ability to work effectively with both office and field personnel
  • Ability to perform duties in an office and project site environment
Travel Requirements:
  • Travel as required by project needs
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as required
