Sendero Energy Services, a prominent civil construction-focused professional services company specializing in earthwork, drainage, and utilities for renewable energy developers and EPC firms in the Southwest, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Houston.

The Assistant Project Manager at Sendero Energy Services will support the planning, coordinating, and executing of various renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar farms, carbon capture, and biodiesel facilities. This position involves working closely with the senior leadership team and contributing to successfully delivering projects within established timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist in providing leadership to the operations team (office and field) in project construction activities.
  • Support the review of estimated quantities and scope of work.
  • Must complete the NCCER Safety Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Collaborate with the project management team in developing and reviewing project construction schedules.
  • Participate in the optimization of project budgets, fees, and margins.
  • Assist in managing the financial health of projects and ensuring construction budgets are met.
  • Support operations crew workload management for timely completion of deliverables.
  • Participate in the development and provision of man-hour work schedules to EPC clients.
  • Assist in preparing monthly invoices to EPC clients with required supporting data.
  • Support the review of project contract terms and conditions, addressing risk issues.
  • Participate in validating potential value engineering items, alternates, and options for project optimization.
  • Assist in reviewing project documents and identifying gaps or overlaps in scope.
  • Participate in the training and mentoring of office and field staff.
  • Support the lead in the risk review process with internal and external clients.
  • Ensure bonds and insurance are in place and within budget.
  • Assist in subcontractor selection and the "buy-out" process.
  • Support reviewing and approving specialty and heavy equipment pricing and delivery schedules.
  • Participate in verifying subcontractor P.O.s and insurance are in place.
  • Assist in presenting estimates to internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate within the “Team Concept” at all times.
  • Be flexible and responsive to all other duties assigned by Senior Leadership.

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement—a minimum of 3 years of direct  construction experience and 5 years of project estimating experience for water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment facilities.
  • Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically and make quick and sound decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, HeavyBid, PlanSwift, and OST is desired.
  • OSHA 30 Hour safety certification required.
  • CPR / First Aid Certification.
  • NCCER Certification within 90 days of hire.
