Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of commercial construction and interior renovation projects throughout the Greater Boston area. This role is ideal for an individual with previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer who is looking to grow within a fast-paced construction environment.
The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients to assist with project coordination, document management, estimating support, and day-to-day administrative responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
Estimating & Preconstruction Support
  • Download, organize, and maintain project drawings and specifications
  • Create and manage estimate folders and bid documentation
  • Compile subcontractor bid lists and distribute invitations to bid
  • Collect, organize, and track subcontractor proposals for estimating review
Project Coordination & Administration:
  • Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and document management
  • Compile and maintain project contact lists
  • Gather Certificates of Insurance (COIs), permits, and required subcontractor documentation
  • Coordinate distribution of project documentation to subcontractors, field teams, and building management
  • Create and maintain project logs including submittal logs and RFI logs
  • Print and organize project drawings, NFPA-241 plans, signage, and field documentation as needed
  • Assist in preparing project closeout packages including warranty letters, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation
  • Compile and prepare Certificate of Occupancy documentation packages
Submittals & Document Control:
  • Review submittals for project compliance
  • Submit material, equipment, and sample packages to architects and engineers for approval
  • Track submittal turnaround times and ensure approved information is distributed to subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
  • Assist with maintaining current project drawings and documentation using Fieldwire and internal systems
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role within commercial construction
  • Basic understanding of commercial construction methods and terminology
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Project Scheduling is a plus
  • Experience with Fieldwire, Procore, or similar construction management software preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
