Job Description
In this Building and Construction Assistant Project Manager role you will:
- Support Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projects.
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project records.
- Track project progress and help ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Assist with procurement activities and material coordination.
- Participate in project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Support quality control and safety compliance initiatives throughout project execution.
- Help facilitate project closeout activities and documentation.

The Successful Applicant
A successful 'Assistant Project Manager' should have:
- Experience working on civil construction, site development, earthwork, or utility-related projects.
- Background as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar construction management role.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Experience collaborating with field operations and subcontractor teams.
- Local knowledge of the Rochester construction market is preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting civil construction projects.
- Working knowledge of site development, earthwork, grading, excavation, and related civil construction activities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with project documentation and project controls processes.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction management software.
- Effective problem-solving and coordination abilities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
