Assistant Project Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager (APM) for a long-term contract opportunity in Maitland, FL. The Assistant Project Manager will support Project Managers across a variety of projects with varying levels of complexity and may independently manage smaller, less complex projects.
The APM will serve as a key project coordinator and liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and other project stakeholders. This position will be responsible for maintaining project documentation, coordinating project activities and communications, and helping ensure projects are completed within established schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the execution of Design-only and/or EPC projects across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Coordinate project activities and serve as a liaison between clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the development of Request for Proposal (RFP) packages, bid processes, contractor selection, and detailed scopes of work for downstream contracts.
- Manage contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), supplemental design instructions, and site drawing logs.
- Monitor and verify contractor compliance with project requirements, including quality, safety, environmental, and material management programs.
- Support contract administration, including change order management, field change directives, invoice approvals, and schedule management.
- Assist with project controls activities, including cost reporting, scheduling, project work breakdown structure development, project setup and closeout, and field progress tracking.
- Assist with the development of internal and external project reports, including budgets, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project status reports.
- Participate in internal and external project risk reviews and coordinate with Legal when necessary.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure proper closeout of contracts and project records.
- Monitor project activities and communications to help ensure project objectives are achieved within established timeframes and budget parameters.
- Promote a strong safety culture and support compliance with project safety programs, training requirements, and company policies.
- Help manage and monitor the Safety & Health performance of project team members, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited program.
- 5+ years of applicable project management, construction, engineering, or related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, including on short notice, when project requirements dictate.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with owners, contractors, Project Managers, engineers, designers, and other professionals within a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
