Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), which now includes Project Management Advisors (PMA), is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Hospitality and Office team in Chicago
This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL
The Opportunity
At Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), we lead the planning, development, and management of the places that shape and strengthen communities- where people live, learn, work, and play. B&D recently joined forces with Project Management Advisors (PMA), bringing together two nationally recognized leaders in program management and real estate advisory services. Together, the combined firm offers expanded capabilities across industries and end-to-end project delivery-from early-stage strategy through design, construction, and occupancy.
Our Hospitality and Office team supports the development and renovation of hotels, corporate office spaces, and mixed-use environments, working with clients to manage coordination across design, schedule, budget, and construction execution.
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support project teams throughout planning, design, and construction phases by assisting with coordination, documentation, financial tracking, stakeholder communication, and field support to help ensure successful project delivery.
How You’ll Contribute
- Support project managers in the coordination and delivery of hospitality and office development and renovation projects
- Assist with project planning, design coordination, and pre-construction activities
- Help track project budgets, schedules, and reporting tools to support overall project controls
- Assist in reviewing architectural and engineering drawings and construction documents
- Support procurement activities, including coordination of design and construction contracts and consultant agreements
- Participate in project meetings, including preparation of agendas, notes, and tracking of action items
- Maintain project logs, issue lists, and action item tracking to ensure follow-through and accountability
- Support review and documentation of potential change orders and budget/schedule impacts
- Assist with permitting coordination and documentation tracking with design and construction teams
- Conduct site visits and support field reporting, including observations of construction progress and coordination issues
- Assist in communication between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams
- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, documentation, and final turnover requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in project management, construction, real estate development, or related fields (hospitality and office experience preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field
- Strong interest in real estate development, construction, and project delivery
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-based, client-facing environments
- Familiarity with construction drawings, documents, or project management tools is a plus

This role's target base annual salary range is currently $70,000-110,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education, experience, certifications, candidate abilities, and pay relative to other team members.
