Estimator in Reno

The Estimator in Reno is responsible for:

Lead and manage preconstruction efforts across commercial ground-up and tenant improvement projects from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including full quantity takeoffs, subcontractor pricing analysis, and material/labor evaluations.
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for value engineering.
Own the bid process including subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, scope alignment, and final proposal preparation.
Develop conceptual and detailed budgets in collaboration with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
Work closely with operations, project management, and field leadership to ensure estimating aligns with constructability and execution strategies.
Maintain and refine historical cost data, assemblies, and estimating tools to improve accuracy and efficiency over time.
Lead bid reviews, scope reviews, and turnover meetings with operations following project award.
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners to ensure competitive and complete coverage in the market.

The ideal estimator profile will have:

5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating within a General Contractor or subcontractor environment.
Strong background preparing estimates for commercial ground-up and tenant improvement projects from conceptual budgets through final bid.
Proven ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid analysis, and full pricing assembly.
Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced preconstruction environment.
Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and overall constructability.
Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure complete and competitive pricing coverage.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to estimating.
Stable work history with reputable commercial builders and a track record of accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Familiarity with the Las Vegas construction market and local subcontractor base is highly valued.
