Estimator in Reno

The Estimator in Reno is responsible for:

  • Lead and manage preconstruction efforts across commercial ground-up and tenant improvement projects from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including full quantity takeoffs, subcontractor pricing analysis, and material/labor evaluations.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for value engineering.
  • Own the bid process including subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, scope alignment, and final proposal preparation.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed budgets in collaboration with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with operations, project management, and field leadership to ensure estimating aligns with constructability and execution strategies.
  • Maintain and refine historical cost data, assemblies, and estimating tools to improve accuracy and efficiency over time.
  • Lead bid reviews, scope reviews, and turnover meetings with operations following project award.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners to ensure competitive and complete coverage in the market.

The ideal estimator profile will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating within a General Contractor or subcontractor environment.
  • Strong background preparing estimates for commercial ground-up and tenant improvement projects from conceptual budgets through final bid.
  • Proven ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid analysis, and full pricing assembly.
  • Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced preconstruction environment.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and overall constructability.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure complete and competitive pricing coverage.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to estimating.
  • Stable work history with reputable commercial builders and a track record of accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Familiarity with the Las Vegas construction market and local subcontractor base is highly valued.
