This individual will serve as a key resource to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting quality expectations. The role includes assisting in pre-construction tasks, jobsite support, logistics coordination, and documentation. Duties may also include site inspections, layout support, estimating assistance, and working with internal departments and external partners.Essential Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesPicks up and delivers materials, tools, and equipment to various job sitesSources and procures supplies from vendors, suppliers, or local retailersPerforms minor layout duties (e.g., layout of traffic control signs, white line areas for utility locates)Takes and submits photos for project documentation (e.g., white line locates, end-of-project photos)Helps clean completed job sites (e.g., pick up materials, remove signage, pull survey stakes, sweep sidewalks)Performs general errands and site coordination tasks to support Project ManagersAssists with required inspections such as:Traffic control devicesStormwater / Erosion controlConfirms quantities on projects by visiting sites and measuring items of workAssists with verifying sites are ready for Brooks' work and checking grades of previous workAssists with pre-construction activities, including:Field office setupBulletin board creation and setupBorrow/disposal site submittalsQuality Control PlansAssists sales/estimating team with quantity takeoffs for quotes on smaller projectsBegins reviewing contracts, specifications, and drawings to gain document familiarityAssists in meetings with foremen on sites under the guidance of other Project ManagersServes as vacation coverage for other team members as assignedOther Duties/ResponsibilitiesAssist others in department as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Skills and AbilitiesStrong attendance, punctuality, reliability, and work ethicWillingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours when neededValid driver's license and ability to travel within a 70-mile radius of the home officeCompliance with company Drug-Free & Alcohol-Free Workplace policiesAbility to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredComfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervisionDemonstrated ability to learn quickly and follow proceduresTeam-oriented with independent problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work under the oversight and direction of other Project ManagersWillingness to observe and learn construction techniques and how to read specs/contractsDemonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints (or willingness to learn)Flexibility in managing multiple priorities within tight time constraintsHigh degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal communication skills-both oral and writtenAnalytical and decision-making abilitiesProven dependability, organization, and adaptability skillsAbility to develop proficiency in key software programs-such as MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, accounting software, Bluebeam, and the internal dashboard-through training provided by other Project Managers and/or formal classesEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 2 years' experience in a construction environment OR successful completion of a construction internship programPrevious hands-on experience in horizontal/civil construction is highly preferredPhysical RequirementsLifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs. frequentlyPushing/Pulling: Up to 50 lbs. frequentlyDriving: Regular driving of automatic and possibly standard transmission vehiclesMovement Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and occasionally reaching above shoulder level, climbing and crawlingUse of Hands: Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling materials, and occasionally keyboardingWorking EnvironmentWorks in a combination of office and field environments (50/50)Ability to work in adverse conditions, including rain, snow, extreme heat or cold, water, mud, dust, etc.Frequent interaction with internal team (Project Managers, Foremen, Superintendents, Estimators, Safety, Accounting) and external contacts (vendors, subcontractors, customers)Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneHow to Apply:Online: Visit www.brooks1st.com/jobs to access our online Employment Application by clicking "View Open Positions and Apply Now!".
