Assistant Project Manager
Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating construction projects to ensure field teams can execute work safely, efficiently, and within budget. This role plays a key part in maintaining project schedules, managing documentation, and supporting communication between internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with overall project planning and coordination.
- Assist in developing cost estimates for assigned projects.
- Solicit and obtain bids from subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Issue subcontractor job kits upon approval from the Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Assist with preparing job start-up and close-out checklists.
- Develop detailed construction progress schedules in coordination with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Update project schedules monthly or as required by contract.
- Prepare the Contract Schedule of Values for Project Manager approval.
- Secure properly executed subcontracts, purchase orders, insurance certificates, bonds, and other required documentation to protect the Company’s interests.
- Prepare, track, and maintain logs for shop drawings, contract documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, material deliveries, and other project documentation necessary for successful execution.
- Promote clear communication across project teams to support timely and accurate project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions while following established company procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
- Experience with Bluebeam preferred
