Assistant Project Manager Construction

Operations | Remote | Travel up to 20%

Salary: $80,000 $85,000 (Exempt)

Job Summary:

This position will serve in a PMO environment to support efforts in construction management; scheduling, field verifications, permitting, procurement support, monitoring and controlling, vendor management, project accounting, progress reporting, and supporting onsite buildout/fixturization.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages project schedule start/finish dates, task durations, completion progress, evaluates sequencing, lookaheads, communicates delays, and identifies risks and opportunities
  • Assists in construction administration (managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, etc.)
  • Assists with procurement & ordering through the confirmation of electrical, lighting, and HVAC equipment takeoffs
  • Assists in review of construction plans for completeness and best practices ? Quality assurance checks of shop drawings and submittals
  • Conducts periodic travel for site visits to monitor construction and observe general compliance of as-built conditions with the contract drawings and specifications
  • Participates in periodic travel for the store setup and build-out process, managing temporary laborers to unload, unbox, install fixtures, and stock supplies
  • Maintains high level of vendor contact and communication, as directed by the PM
  • Prepares daily & weekly project status reports for project manager approval, utilizing appropriate software functions
  • Attends consultant/vendor meetings to record meeting minutes and assists to follow-up on action items
  • Maintains clean & neat appearance, professionally representing the LaserAway Brand Standards in all interactions both virtually and in-person
  • Facilitate the project turnover documentation, recordkeeping/retention, and close out processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Embraces change and maintains strong attention to detail, while demonstrating an analytical approach to problem solving
  • Executes assigned duties and responsibilities without prompting

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Business or a related field, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Must have excellent verbal & written communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient utilizing software applications; Google Suite Applications, Smartsheet, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • General knowledge of the permitting process and familiarity with construction best practices, including commercial tenant-improvement construction methods and general building codes
  • Ability to perform and supervise general labor such as the loading and unloading boxes and equipment, and mounting miscellaneous fixtures (TV mounts, posters, etc)
  • Travel required up to 20%

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Remote based, virtual meeting environment
  • Periodic field work and site inspections
  • Ability to climb ladder for roof access, and lift boxes and equipment up to 50 lbs
