Job SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of high-rise multifamily construction projects. The ideal candidate will have
2-5 years of experience in a construction environment and a
BS/BSE/BE degree in engineering or construction science/management. This role works closely with designers, project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day management of commercial and multifamily construction projects
- Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
- Track project budgets, cost reports, change orders, and purchase orders
- Assist with RFPs, subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and scope reviews
- Review submittals, RFIs, drawings, and project documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate with field teams to monitor progress, quality, and safety
- Participate in project meetings and assist with meeting minutes and follow-up items
- Help maintain project schedules and update project management software
- Support closeout activities including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and safety standards
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in construction science/management, engineering, or related field (required)
- 2-5 years of experience in commercial and/or multifamily construction
- Basic understanding of construction means and methods
- Familiarity with project management processes, scheduling, and cost control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with construction management software is a plus (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment
Preferred Skills- Internship or prior field experience with a developer/builder or general contractor
- Exposure to budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
