Job Description

Seeking a Layout Field Engineer - Civil Construction - Columbia with a strong background in civil construction. Key Responsibilities:

Perform field layout and staking for earthwork, utilities, and structures using total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment.
Establish and maintain control points and benchmarks; verify accuracy throughout the project.
Conduct as-built surveys and provide updated drawings or reports to project teams.
Import and manage CAD files and point data for layout and machine control.
Set up and troubleshoot GPS/RTK systems, including base stations and rovers.
Coordinate with superintendents and crews to ensure layout aligns with design and schedule.
Maintain accurate documentation of layout activities, stake reports, and as-built data.
Follow all safety procedures and quality standards during field operations.

The Successful Applicant

The Layout Field Engineer - Civil Construction - Columbia should have:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2-4+ years of experience in construction layout or field engineering.
Proficiency with total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment highlight preferred, but not required.
Ability to read and interpret civil plans and drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
