The purpose of the Office of Student Involvement is to work with students to provide meaningful learning opportunities through programs, activities, and leadership development initiatives that connect students with the campus community and enhance their college experience.

Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Advise and guide 3 University Student Organizations (USO) regarding operations, budget, leadership, events/activities, recruitment, annual compliance (i.e. re-registration), university policies, and risk management.
- Lead the creation, coordination, and implementation of on-going leadership development training for student organization leaders.
- Assist affinity-based student organizations with the coordination and execution of campus-wide events/initiatives along with recruit and manage planning committees as needed.
- Serve a point of contact for the campus community to strategically and intentionally connect university wide initiatives with affinity-based organizations when appropriate.
- Assist with the risk management oversight of the programs and operations for the six affinity-based student directly supported by Office of International Services (OIS).
- Ensure full compliance with all university policies and student engagement platform requirements by reviewing and approving all event/activity requests submitted by each organization.
- Provide fiscal oversight, with support from the Associate Director, to budgets associated with programming and general operations of each USO within area of operation.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment within the USOs advised, by modeling professional communication and accountability.
- Serve as an accessibility point of contact for officers and members seeking academic, personal, or professional support and connect them with the appropriate campus resource.
- Measure and evaluate effectiveness of student life initiatives against projected outcomes and gather satisfaction feedback from student participants.
- Work with Associate Director regarding assessment and data collection.
- Complete other related duties to support the unit as assigned.
General Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives geared at improving student engagement and involvement outcomes at the program, department/division, or campus level.
- Interface directly with students, attending student life events and programs and gathering satisfaction feedback from student participants to implement into future student life initiatives and objectives.
- Collaborate with staff in own department and other departments, as well as student organization leaders, on shared student life goals, often coordinating funding to sponsor student life initiatives.
- Measure and evaluate effectiveness of student life initiatives against projected outcomes; regularly prepare reports and present to stakeholders on effectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward.
- Provide guidance to student organizations regarding operations, budget, leadership, activities, recruitment, registration, policies, and compliance.
- Promote leadership and student development through advising of individual student leaders and volunteers.
- Contribute to the formation, interpretation, and implementation of student organization policies.
- May provide guidance to other Student Life Specialists; make process recommendations to manager for improved delivery of service.
Qualifications

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelors degree in public affairs, public health, counseling, social work, education, business, or a related field.
Preferred
- Masters degree in higher education student affairs or a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years in student services, higher education, or a related field.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
