    Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Professor, Tenure Track - Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology at its Detroit campus location.

    Essential functions (job duties):

    The Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology & Immunology at Wayne State University School of Medicine is searching for an outstanding virologist for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

    All qualified candidates in the field of virology will be considered, the search is targeting researchers studying fundamental and applied problems in virology associated with human disease.

    Candidates will be expected to establish a high-impact, extramurally funded research program and to participate in graduate and medical virology teaching. A competitive laboratory start-up package will be provided.

    Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a 2-3 page summary discussing current and future research plans, and the names and addresses of three referees. References will only be requested for shortlisted candidates.

    Qualifications:

    Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree with postdoctoral research experience.

    Valid Michigan Medical License for MD degree.
