Job Description
The School of Computing invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position specializing in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence to begin in Spring 2027. The department seeks candidates with strong skills, industry experience, and/or active research backgrounds in cybersecurity domains such as network security, malware analysis, digital forensics, secure coding, or AI-driven security workflows. The candidate will join a dynamic department dedicated to high-quality teaching, applied scholarship, and meaningful service. The School of Computing houses three programs: Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Network Management, and Web & User Experience.
Job Duties
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity, software development, AI applications, and computer science.
Deliver instruction across a variety of learning modalities, including face-to-face, virtual, and fully online formats.
Conduct courses at both the Ogden and Davis campuses, including occasional evening offerings to accommodate varied student schedules.
Support student success through academic advising, mentorship, and supervision of undergraduate research or capstone projects.
Research & Scholarship
Maintain an active trajectory of scholarship and research in core cybersecurity domains (e.g., network security, malware analysis, forensics, secure coding) or the integration of AI tools within security and software workflows.
Disseminate scholarly work through peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, conferences, or industry collaborations.
Pursue internal and external funding opportunities to support scholarly projects and student involvement.
Curriculum & Program Development
Participate in designing, updating, and evaluating undergraduate and graduate curricula to stay current with industry practices, security frameworks, and emerging AI technologies.
Develop specialized laboratory exercises, hands-on technical materials, and modern learning tools for cybersecurity instruction.
Institutional & Professional Service
Provide active service to the department, college, and university through committee memberships, policy development, and program assessment.
Engage with regional industry partners, professional cybersecurity organizations, and community outreach efforts.
