    Job Summary/Basic Functions

    The Cardiovascular Center of Excellence in the School of Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA is seeking candidates for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Candidates should have an active extramurally-funded grant, the desire to participate in collaborative research projects related to cardiovascular research and teaching ability. Exceptional unfunded applicants will also be considered. Expertise in all areas of cardiovascular research will be considered, but special consideration will be given to those that complement the existing collaborative research strengths of the Center which include Heart Failure, Hypertension and Autonomic Regulation.

Opportunities are available for interaction with other Centers of Excellence in Neuroscience, Alcohol Research and Cancer. Anticipated duties and responsibilities will include sustaining an exceptional research program, mentoring of graduate students/post-doctoral fellows, and participating in the broad health sciences teaching activities of the Center.
