Overview:
Mount Marty University, a Catholic, Benedictine liberal arts institution sponsored by the Sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery, invites applications for a full-time, in-person, tenure-track position in Biology. Located in Yankton, South Dakota, Mount Marty seeks a broadly trained biologist who will serve as the primary faculty member for teaching human anatomy and physiology. Appointment is anticipated at the rank of Assistant Professor, though candidates with substantial prior academic experience may be considered for appointment at a higher rank.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching, the ability to teach across the biology curriculum, and sustained professional or scholarly activity that enriches classroom instruction.
MMU's biology professors serve biology majors, students preparing for pre-professional careers and students in the university's nursing program. The department also contributes substantially to the General Education program, so the successful candidate will teach students at a wide range of preparation levels and career intentions.
Mount Marty welcomes applications from candidates early in their academic careers. New faculty are supported by the university's Teaching and Learning Center, which provides mentoring, instructional design assistance, and ongoing development for colleagues new to the classroom.
