Description Erskine College ( www.erskine.edu ) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor positi on in t he Department of Biolog y. A broad backgr ound in bio logy and genuine e nthusiasm for tea ching in an undergraduate Christian liber al arts en vironment are essential. T he succe ssful candidate should be prepared t o teach courses in microbiolog y, genetics, molec ular and ce ll biolog y, and other courses within the undergraduate biology curric ulum. We seek applicants who will complement and expand existing d epar tmental strengths and who can contribute across multiple areas of the biology program. Additional expertise in areas such as developmental biolog y, neuroscience, biostatistics, anatomy and physiolog y, or related biomedical sciences is welcome. Previous undergraduat e teaching experience is preferred. An earned Ph.D., M.D., DVM, or other appropriat e terminal degree by the start date is expected; exceptional ABD candidates will be considered. Responsibilities Teaching load of 24 credit hours per yea r, with in-person teaching of lecture and lab. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory biology for scienc e maj ors or nonmajors, senior semina r, and courses in field of specialt y. Additional responsibilities include dep artmen tal, institutional, and church/community service. Faculty members are expected t o embr ace an d support the Erskine mission statement.
