SC State University's Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor of Audiology and ClinicalAudiologist to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Audiology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise student practicums; provide a full range of audiological services, including diagnostic (hearing aid evaluations, otoacoustic emissions, brain stem audiometry)
- Manage (hearing aid fitting and aural rehabilitation) for pediatric through geriatric populations;
- Complete/submit research projects, grants, and presentations;
- Contribute to the accomplishment of the program and college goals (strategic plan).
Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:
- Au.D. degree required. Some university teaching experience.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology and South Carolina License by the Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology, or be eligible.
Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position:
- Preference is given to an individual with a background in teaching and providing services to culturally diverse populations.
- Experience with the school-aged hearing-impaired population and the potential to conduct and participate in research pertinent to clinical speech-language and audiology.
