Position Summary

The Nocturnists position will consist of the following• Provide clinical services on a 7 day onoff schedule• Work hours are from 8 pm to 8 am• Nocturnists will spend half of their service time supervising resident activities and half of their time working independently• More specifically on the week supervising residents the Nocturnists will be available to residents should questions or problems arise in the care of patients by the residents.• The Nocturnists will actively supervise the residents in their care of patients that are admitted to the step-down areas of the hospital and when patients under the care of the residents decompensate.• On weeks when not supervising residents the Nocturnists will independently admit up to 6 patients and be responsible for the care of those patients. Supervision of the nurse practitioner will also be provided as the nurse practitioner provides cross cover activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD degree• Georgia Medical LicenseBoard Certification in Internal Medicine• Preferred experience in medical student andor resident teaching• Good interpersonal skills• High level of professionalism

It is MSMs Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidates offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
