Job Summary
The Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Counselor Education (EDSCE) invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Special Education - Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD). This faculty member will provide expertise in support of the LBD program across elementary and secondary school levels. The position is Regular Title Series, Tenure Eligible. This is a 9-month appointment, effective August 16, 2027.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching K-12 students with Learning Disabilities. They should have strong instructional and assessment skills, the ability to teach and supervise teacher candidates, along with excellent collaboration and communication abilities to foster an inclusive learning environment.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
Preference will be given to applicants who have direct experience providing academic instruction and special education services to students with Learning Disabilities in K-12 educational environments, and whose research focuses on academic interventions, or related areas of effective instruction. Additional preference will be given to applicants with experience supervising practicum and student teaching in K-12 schools for university teacher candidates.
