Job Description Summary

The College of Health & Human Services is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to support the Bachelors of Science in Health Science (BSHS) Program in the Department of Allied Health. The BSHS degree provides both traditional and non-traditional students the opportunity to complete a degree as a completion to many of the Health Science Associate of Applied Science degrees, and also serves as a stand-alone Bachelors Degree in the health science field. The anticipated start date is January 2027.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, advising, scholarship, curriculum development, and service.

The position requires a 4/4 undergraduate course load, with four courses each fall and spring semester. The department values candidates who can teach broadly across the BSHS curriculum. Possible courses to be taught, reviewed, and developed:

BSHS 3100 - The US Healthcare System

BSHS 3332 - Healthcare Ethics

BSHS 3343 - Research and Design for Healthcare

BSHS 4200 - Management Techniques for Healthcare

Minimum Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

• College-level teaching experience.
• Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, advising, and mentorship.
• Ability to teach a variety of health science courses, including courses outside the candidate's primary specialization.
• Ability to teach effectively in an online format.
• Effective use of current instructional technology to engage students and support learning.
• Interest in supporting first-generation college students and students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to active participation in the department, campus, and/or local community.
• Ability to engage students, both attracting and retaining students within the BSHS program.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree or higher in health science or closely related field with at least three years of college-level teaching experience or five years of relevant professional experience in an allied health field.
