    Description

    The Department of Classics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin Fall of academic year 2026-27.

    We seek a Hellenist with a specialization in the area of intellectual history.

    In addition to actively researching and publishing, job responsibilities include:

    • Teaching Greek language and culture at the undergraduate and graduate levels • Conducting research in Greek intellectual history • Providing service to the department and the university in the form of serving on committees overseeing exams and organizing events

    Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Classical Studies or a closely related field no later than August 15, 2026.
