JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team of clinicians and researchers.

This position offers the opportunity to engage in clinical care, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and develop a productive funded research program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This full-time academic role combines clinical care, teaching and research within a collaborative health system. The successful candidate will:

  • Join a multidisciplinary team to support the institutional clinical, educational and research missions.

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric endocrinology care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Participate in the development of a clinical and/or basic research program within the Division of Endocrinology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an LCME or COCA accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship.
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted State of Texas Physician License.
  • Current U.S. DEA Practitioner registration.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical and/or basic science research.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior academic experience in resident and medical student education.
  • Demonstrated research experience and productivity.

SALARY:

Commensurate with experience.
