The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at LSU Health Shreveport seeks a highly motivated faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program in biochemistry, molecular biology, metabolism, cancer biology, or related biomedical sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to graduate and medical education, mentor trainees, participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities, and support the research and educational missions of LSU Health Shreveport. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, maintain, or expand an active, independent, externally funded research program appropriate to faculty rank. Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to the advancement of biochemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, or related biomedical sciences. Teach and participate in medical, graduate, and/or postgraduate education programs. Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and other trainees. Collaborate with faculty across departments, research centers, and institutional programs. Serve on departmental, institutional, and professional committees as appropriate to rank and experience. Contribute to the continued growth of the research and educational missions of LSU Health Shreveport.
