The selected candidate will play an integral role in fulfilling the department's mission to deliver exceptional rehabilitative services through innovation in clinical care and the advancement of knowledge that promotes recovery, functional restoration, and meaningful community participation for individuals with functional limitations due to injury or disease.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Promoting collaborative efforts across health-related disciplines
- Supporting patient advocacy
- Training future care providers and leaders in patient care and research
Responsibilities:
- Teaching rehabilitation residents, fellows, medical students, and physical therapy students
- Developing and sustaining an environment in the patient care units that supports excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and standards that support positive patient care outcomes, including excellent risk-adjusted outcomes
- Serving as a role model in professional behavior and leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Texas Medical License or ability to obtain a Texas Medical License
- Outstanding clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Excellent administrative and organizational abilities
- Commitment to excellence, discovery, and service
